I'm also a lover of the mixtape, I had a mate who made me so many amazing tapes with so much weird and wonderful songs that led me down so many musical rabbit holes, I just bought a book called Cassette from my Ex, a great collection of stories of the love of the mixtape and how it can connect people on many different levels.
What a great book idea. There's so much to talk about with mixtapes! I also love it when you find them in hard rubbish. I listened to a couple of them made in the 90s the other day and for some reason I included some of the radio DJ banter between songs. What was I thinking!?
My favourite time of the rubbish calendar! I have one of 'those' chairs that just needed rescuing. It wasn't allowed indoors, so now sits outside and supports a plant. My partner hates it! Good score with the cassette player!
I had a daybed we found in hard rubbish. We called her Roxanne and only got rid of her when we moved to Amsterdam. She went back on the street and immediately got picked up by another john because she was quality. Hard rubbish is a gift from the gods.
Love this post! The home repair of the footballs job is fantastic, only to be topped off by a video of the tape player you rescued from hard rubbish and then repaired. Bring on the next hard rubbish day

😂 I used to tape Kasey Casem American top 40 all the time and include all his intros as well

The four chairs we've only just got rid of in a similar situation is another story on its own.

I liked in Amsterdam how the bikes parked on the streets seemed to skirt between functioning bikes and hard rubbish. It was like they were in limbo.

I can restore any footballs you have when we visit at Christmas!
